== Synopsis ==

Set 2 years after the events of [[Yakuza 4]], Yakuza 5 sees 5 protagonists in the series for the first time. Shun Akiyama, Taiga Saejima and Kiryu Kazuma all return, as well as Haruka Sawamura, a girl raised by Kiryu since [[Yakuza Kiwami|the first game]] who is now an idol, and Tatsuo Shinada, a disgraced former baseball player. The 5 become entangled in a growing Yakuza conflict as the fragile truce between the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance threatens to unravel.
