Yakuza 5 is an action adventure title developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega. Initially released in 2012 in Japan, it was localised in 2015 for the Sony PlayStation 3. A remastered version released for the Sony PlayStation 4 in 2019 in Japan and 2020 in the West, with this version coming to PC in 2021.
Synopsis
Set 2 years after the events of Yakuza 4, Yakuza 5 sees 5 protagonists in the series for the first time. Shun Akiyama, Taiga Saejima and Kiryu Kazuma all return, as well as Haruka Sawamura, a girl raised by Kiryu since the first game who is now an idol, and Tatsuo Shinada, a disgraced former baseball player. The 5 become entangled in a growing Yakuza conflict as the fragile truce between the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance threatens to unravel.
